# Installing a RedSea ReefMat 500

There are 3 different ways to connect the Reefmat 500. With all three ways you need to NOT have the roll installed and separate the top part of the rollermat from the bottom portion. You only need the bottom portion of the RM500 when connecting the plumbing. This will give you plenty of room to connect it to the sump or tank drain.
